Cyber Insurance Forum
Understanding Insurance as an Executive Due Diligence Responsibility
Cyber insurance is more than a financial product. Understanding coverage, requirements and responsibilities before an incident is an important part of executive due diligence.
The Cyber Insurance Forum brings insurance professionals, cybersecurity experts and business leaders together to help New Mexico owners, executives and directors better understand the role insurance plays in managing cyber risk.
Forum activities focus on:
- Increasing executive awareness of cyber insurance coverage and requirements
- Helping leaders understand questions to ask agents, insurers and cybersecurity providers
- Examining how insurance requirements relate to organizational cybersecurity practices
- Promoting preparation for insurance notification and response following an incident
- Identifying emerging insurance issues affecting New Mexico organizations
The Forum works with the Education & Outreach Group to bring practical cyber insurance information to businesses, nonprofits, industries and communities throughout New Mexico.
Through education and collaboration, the Cyber Insurance Forum helps leaders make informed decisions while relying on qualified insurance and cybersecurity professionals for appropriate advice and implementation.

SecureNM™ currently has one Public Policy Group consisting of the executive director and two members.
Its primary purpose is to monitor public policy and make members aware of new or coming legislation and mandates. As members adopt new standards in their special interest peer groups, the Public Policy Group can become a proactive advocate for their objectives.
Member surveys are conducted to determine any public policies that SecureNM™ may carry forward on behalf of small businesses and non-profit entities in New Mexico.
